Since 1874 the Artisan Distillery Bertrand in Uberach in Alsace has been creating some of the best Eaux de Vie de Fruit (Fruit Spirits). This long experience has allowed them an unequalled ability to produce the first French Whisky in 2003. 16 years later, we are proud to introduce some, limited quantities of long matured and distinctive whiskies all bearing the Controlled Appellation IG with its quality requirements: “ Whisky d’ Alsace “ The must (Bio) comes from the nearby brewery in Uberach and the exceptional barrels from the aromatic wine regions of Alsace (Late Harvests), Jura (Vin Jaune), Burgundy (Old Chardonnays), Roussillon (Banyuls), Cognac … All of them are Single Malt and are named after the small town Uberach ( Meaning aptly, “Beyond water”)
Nose: Gingerbread, confit bitter orange, crême brulée, hazelnut followed by cardamom, cloves and blond tobacco.
Mouth: Unctuous, Burnt Caramel, Kola nut and cooked peach.
Finale: Flotsam, Caramel, Iodine
Aged in: Banyuls cask
