Bernabeleva Madrid Camino de Navaherreros Blanco 2020

Organic. Bernabeleva’s Camino de Navaherreros wines were created for the US market when their importer requested an entry-level range to wean their clients onto the more up-market bottlings. After being on the waiting list for some time, we now get our own allocation. The white draws heavily on the estate’s old-vine Albillo, which brings textured floral fruit balanced by the freshness from a field blend of Macabeo, Garnacha Blanca and Malvar.

Mengoba Bierzo Brezo Rosado 2015

A bright, perfumed, racy and punchy, rosado with fabulous energy and freshness, but also with quite a lot of generosity, lively red berry fruit and spicy complexity. Rates very high on the deliciousness scale.

Bodegas Cinco Leguas La Maldicion Vinos de Madrid Tinto Fino 2020

Despite the name of the project, there is nothing jinxed about this wine: it offers bags of the classic red cola fruit of Tempranillo, as well as inky complexity, refreshing acidity and a kiss of vibrant tannin. A delicious, high-grown, yet generous country red, and an absolute bargain as always.

Valenciso Rioja Laderas de Cabama 2019

Straight out of the gates this vibrant and energetic wine emanates youthful charm. Deep purple, it's rich with aromas of violet florals, dark berries, cocoa, some gentle earth tones and warm spices. The medium bodied palate has a softness to it, with rich and unctuous fruit balanced by refreshing acidity and suave, persistent tannins (which will also ensure this ages superbly) leading to a savoury flecked, lengthy close. Great on its own, this will also suit with a wide variety of meat dishes.
