Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Barrell Craft Spirits is an independent blending house known for inventive whiskey blends and barrel finishes. Seagrass combines American and Canadian rye whiskies, with components finished separately in Martinique rhum, Madeira and apricot brandy casks before blending and bottling at cask strength. Ripe apricot, melon and plum aromas lead into a juicy palate of pear, lychee and grapefruit. Cinnamon and fresh herbal notes balance the fruit sweetness, while a subtle coastal salinity adds character. The finish is fresh and lingering, with gentle tannins and herbal complexity.
